BRANDING + PRINT DESIGN
HIGHLAND SPECIALTY GRAINS
Bryce McKay of Highland Specialty Grains reached out to me looking for logo/branding design, as well as business card and letterhead design. Highland Specialty Grains breeds specialty barley, and they wanted a logo that combined the McKay family Tartan, traditional Scottish elements (and specifically a Celtic style typeface) with a modern look. Incorporating plaid and a Celtic typeface into a logo was a bit of a challenge. I presented the Highland Specialty Grains team with a variety of logo designs, and we went back and forth for several weeks before landing on the final design.
Feral Change is an Oakland based non-profit that does Trap Neuter Release (TNR) for feral and stray cats in Oakland. They also do some rescue and adoption, and work with other local rescues and shelters to help cats in need. Feral Change reached out to me for a logo design to update and refresh their image as they gained official non-profit status. They were looking for a logo that was clean and modern, and reflected the organization, with an emphasis on helping feral cats. The final logo shows a feral cat (see the tipped ear) within the open embrace of human arms, showing protection, but also release.
The Haven logo was designed for R2P Pet for a high end line of pet bedding.
